All three tools have a free plan and a Chrome extension, and all three help you research topics and package videos. They differ in what they're best at, what they cost and who they're built for. This comparison uses each company's own pricing, feature and store pages, checked on 18 October 2026. Vid0 is our product, so we've tried hard to say plainly where the other two are better.

vidIQ's Boost and Max prices load for your country, so we've listed the rupee prices the page showed us from India. Check the page for your own currency. TubeBuddy's page says INR amounts are estimates only and it charges in US dollars. Vid0 sets a separate rupee price for each paid plan rather than converting.

Where is vidIQ the better choice?

vidIQ is the most established of the three. Its extension has the most users and the highest store rating in the table, and its features page covers more ground than either rival: keyword research, outliers, daily ideas, a thumbnail maker, a script writer, video clipping, an AI Coach, tools for Instagram and an MCP server that its pricing page says is on every plan, including Free.

If you want one tool that does a bit of everything and has years of polish behind it, vidIQ is the safe pick. A small channel can get a lot out of its free plan before paying.

Where is TubeBuddy the better choice?

TubeBuddy is the cheapest way to pay for a YouTube tool. Pro is $3/month, and the three-year Legend option works out cheaper than paying Legend monthly. It's also the only one of the three with title and thumbnail A/B testing and bulk editing (find and replace across descriptions, thumbnail overlays, scheduled publishing), all on Legend.

If you already have a back catalogue you want to clean up, or you want to test two thumbnails against each other, TubeBuddy Legend does things the other two don't. One thing to note: its pricing page says Pro and Legend are for individual creators only, and lists 50K or more subscribers as one of the signs it may treat an account as a business.

If TubeBuddy is the tool you're weighing up, our page on Vid0 as a TubeBuddy alternative for small channels puts the two side by side.

Where is Vid0 the better choice?

Vid0 is built for channels that aren't big yet (here's why we built Vid0). Three things are different:

  1. Outliers at the same age. Every video is compared with what its own channel's videos usually have at the same age, so a week-old upload isn't judged against three-year-old ones. Here's how to read an outlier score.
  2. Winnable keywords. The keyword score checks whether channels your size actually do well in the top results, rather than showing a search-volume estimate.
  3. Brand deals. A creator page (media kit) with your stats and rates, free on every plan.
The Vid0 scorecard on a YouTube watch page, showing an 11× Breakout badge, 4.3M views, 287.8 views per hour and 0.9% engagement
The Vid0 scorecard for a Mt. Fuji travel vlog: 4.3M views is 11× this channel's typical 400.4K at one year, measured against its 30 recent long-form uploads.

Vid0 is also read-only: it never uploads, edits or deletes anything on YouTube. That's a plus if you're cautious, and a minus if you want a tool to make bulk changes for you.

Where Vid0 falls short: it's newer and smaller than both, it has no A/B testing or bulk editing, and its extension is brand new, with no Chrome Web Store ratings yet.

Which one should you choose?

  • You have no budget: start with the free plans of all three, then keep the one you open most.
  • You want the cheapest paid plan: TubeBuddy Pro at $3/month.
  • You want to A/B test thumbnails: TubeBuddy Legend.
  • You want one all-round tool with lots of AI features: vidIQ.
  • You want video ideas from breakouts in your niche: Vid0 or vidIQ. Our guide to finding outlier videos works with either.
  • You want keywords you can win at your size: Vid0.
  • You're in India and want to pay in rupees: Vid0 sells in INR; vidIQ showed us INR prices too.
  • You want your first brand deal: Vid0's free creator page.

FAQ

Is vidIQ or TubeBuddy better for a small channel?

It depends on the job. TubeBuddy is cheaper and has A/B testing and bulk tools. vidIQ is broader, with more AI and research features. Both have free plans, so try each for a week.

Can I use vidIQ, TubeBuddy and Vid0 at the same time?

They're separate Chrome extensions, so you can install more than one. Vid0 places its cards to leave room for other extensions, such as vidIQ, on the same page.

How much does TubeBuddy cost in India?

As of October 2026, TubeBuddy lists prices in US dollars: Pro $3/month and Legend $15/month. Its page says INR figures are estimates and it charges in US dollars.

How much does Vid0 cost in rupees?

As of October 2026: Creator ₹999/month or ₹7,999/year, Pro ₹2,499/month, and Agency from ₹7,999/month. The free plan costs nothing.

Does Vid0 have A/B testing like TubeBuddy?

No. Vid0 scores titles and descriptions before you publish and tracks how a video does against your usual range afterwards, but it doesn't run split tests. TubeBuddy Legend does.
