YouTube outlier finder

Paste any YouTube channel to see which of its recent videos beat the channel's own typical views at the same age: the topics and packaging that broke out.

How it works

Vid0 reads the channel's recent public uploads from the official YouTube Data API and works out how many views a video from that channel usually has at each age, for long-form and Shorts separately. Each video's outlier score is its views divided by that expected number: 1× is a normal video, 2× an outlier and 5× or more a breakout.

Big channels and small ones are judged the same way, so a 5× video on a channel with 2,000 subscribers stands out as much as one on a channel with two million. What is a YouTube outlier score? explains it with examples.

How does it compare with other outlier finders?

An outlier finder is only as fair as its baseline. Vid0 compares each video with what that channel's videos usually have at the same age, long-form and Shorts apart, so a two-day-old upload isn't judged against videos that have had years to collect views. Questions

What is the best YouTube outlier finder?
It depends on the job. To check any channel free with no sign-up, use this tool. To watch outliers across your niche, with keywords scored for your channel's size, track 3 channels on Vid0's free plan. For outliers plus AI thumbnails, 1of10, from $19/month. For deep niche research billed yearly, OutlierKit. ViewStats has outliers on Pro.
What is an outlier video on YouTube?
A video that gets far more views than its channel usually does. Vid0's outlier score divides a video's views by what its own channel usually gets at the same age, so 1× is a normal video and 5× or more is a breakout. Vid0 calls 2× an outlier.
Why compare at the same age?
Because views pile up over time. A three-day-old video with 20,000 views can be doing far better than a two-year-old one with 100,000, and comparing at the same age is the only fair way to tell.
Are Shorts scored separately?
Yes. Shorts and long-form videos get very different views, so each is compared only with the channel's own videos of the same format.
Can I find outliers across my whole niche?
Yes, signed in. Track the channels in your niche and Vid0's Outliers page ranks every video that beat its own channel, with filters for age, format and score. The free Chrome extension also badges search results and related videos with their outlier score. Get the extension.
Is it really free?
Yes, with no sign-up. Lookups without an account share a daily limit; if it's used up, sign in free to keep going.
